Large, 1–2 pound, no-spray zucchini. Zucchini is usually served cooked. It can be prepared using a variety of cooking techniques, including steamed, boiled, grilled, stuffed and baked, barbecued, fried, or incorporated in other recipes such as soufflés. Zucchini can also be baked into a bread similar to banana bread or incorporated into a cake mix.
My personal favorite way to eat zucchini is to slice it long ways in ¼-inch slices, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper and put it on the grill.
Price: $.99 per pound (one medium zucchini is about a pound)
